Home from Home Kindergarten first started in 1995 when Liz Curtis began caring for children at Lyme Avenue after being a childminder and caring for her own children since 1982. In 1998 Liz's husband Mark joined Home from Home to help with the managerial work.

Business soon grew and the nursery expanded to new premises at the Northchurch Cricket Pavilion for the older children and an out of school club at Westfield First school. The nursery now has over 12 staff caring for over 50 families between the 3 provisions.

Since opening the nursery has changed a lot but will not get any bigger as the success is largely down to a homely and friendly environment. We pride ourselves that many of our children come from the village and many go to St. Marys and Westfield First schools.
